"The boys from Ballarat do Irish rock as well as anyone and always turn every place they play into a party." - Koroit Irish Festival.
Old Melbourne Road are a seven-piece Irish-Australian folk rock band from a town just outside of Ballarat called Dunnstown. A family affair, the band has been in existence since the early 2010's and have played countless shows across Victoria and Ireland, making a name for themselves for their upbeat rollicking renditions of Irish classics, Aussie folk as well as their own original material.
The band are very familiar with the Mallee, playing at the Patchewollock Music Festival as their first gig back in Australia following their successful tour of Ireland in 2017. They are also regulars at the Mallee Cup in Birchip and have appeared multiple times at Beulah.
The lockdown in 2020 saw Old Melbourne Road record and self-produce their debut album "Proper" which was released in 2021. It can be accessed through all streaming platforms as well as buying a CD online or at a gig.
Make sure you don't miss this outfit as they wrap up the evening on Saturday night with a bang.
