Penny has been wowing crowds since she was 12 years old. She has graced many
festivals and venues over the years, including Tamworth, Charters Towers, Alice
Springs, Mt Gambier, Lake Charlegrark, the Riverland, Tailem Bend, Port Pirie,
Port Augusta, ABC radio…and the list goes on. She has picked up an impressive
collection of musical awards along the way.
· 2004- Original EP release
· Telstra Road to Tamworth finalist
· ANZ Singer/Songwriter of the year
· 2005-Semi-finalist Tamworth Singer/Songwriters Association
· Inaugural SA Country Artist of the Year
While her roots are in country music, Penny has been developing and honing her
amazing and memorable voice to a point where she can handle almost any style of
music. Her influences include Reba McEntire, Alison Krauss, Dolly Parton,
Crystal Gale, Norah Jones, Bonnie Raitt and April Smith.
Having being born and bred in Cloncurry Qld as a cattle station kid, lived in
Pinnaroo SA, and once married to a Ballarat spud farmer, Penny is very familiar
with living the country life, hard work and Country Music.
Although she is now making a name for herself in the music world in and around
Ballarat, there is no doubt that you can take the girl out of the country, but there is
no way you can take the country out of the girl.
